The Turkish Revenue Administration (GİB) mandates e-Invoice (e-Fatura) for businesses above set revenue thresholds. Even below the threshold, you’ll typically need e-Arşiv or e-SMM. Here’s a step-by-step guide.
1. Identify which system you need
- e-Fatura: Between registered e-Fatura users. Mandatory if previous year revenue ≥ TRY 3M.
- e-Arşiv: For invoices to non-e-Fatura recipients. Used alongside e-Fatura once you’re above the threshold.
- e-SMM: Electronic equivalent of the professional-services receipt. Mandatory for lawyers, doctors, CPAs, etc.
- Sector-specific obligations may also apply (e-Müstahsil, e-İrsaliye).
2. Get a digital seal
To issue e-documents you need a digital seal (legal entities) or e-signature (individuals). Apply via ŞirketOn — delivered in 5–7 business days.
3. Apply for e-Invoice
Application is done via the GİB Portal. With ŞirketOn integration we file on your behalf — you only install the application certificate once your seal arrives.
4. Pick an integrator
Three options:
- GİB Portal: Free, manual data entry — for low volume.
- Private integrator: Monthly/annual subscription with professional UI, automation, reporting.
- Self-built integration: Direct GİB integration if you have engineering capacity.
ŞirketOn’s pre-accounting module is a private integrator — issue e-Fatura, e-Arşiv, and e-SMM from one panel.
5. Issue your first invoice
- Enter customer info (tax ID or national ID).
- Add product/service, quantity, VAT rate.
- Preview, approve, submit to GİB.
- The approved invoice is delivered as PDF + XML to both parties.
6. Storage requirements
e-Documents must be stored for 10 years. ŞirketOn handles archival automatically; you can download anytime.
ŞirketOn e-Invoice package
All ŞirketOn incorporation packages include integrator rights by default. Run formation, pre-accounting, invoicing, and reporting from one platform.
Tip: Apply at least 7 business days before your switchover deadline — there are last-minute delays during busy periods.
